Leverage’–An Analysis and its Impact on Profitability with Reference to Selected Oil and Gas Companies in India

Oil and gas sector is among the eight core industries in India plays a key role influencing decision making for all other important sectors of economy. The main objective study to examine evaluate impact leverage on profitability with reference oil companies India. For that researcher has been selected top five like Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Indian (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), Authority (GAIL) based market capitalisation. Secondary data have used during period 2016-17 2020-21. analyzing position taken financial as independent variable earning per share dependent variable. testing hypothesis some statistical tools techniques one way ANOVA, correlation regression by researcher. major findings ANOVA indicated there significant difference period. Correlation results showed positive between eps reliance but company’s negatively related eps. Regression analysis found no RIL, ONGC IOCL BPCL GAIL EPS.
